Discover the Desert Castles on a day trip with a guide!
Starting from Amman, you will reach the famous Desert Castles accompanied by your guide. Built around the 8th century by the Umayyad caliphs, these buildings are magnificent testimony to a fascinating period in Jordan's history. Called castles due to their imposing stature, these desert complexes actually had several uses: shopping centres, resort pavilions, outposts, etc.
You will visit Quseir 'Amra in particular, a real gem, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can admire its unusual architecture, its perfectly preserved frescoes and its former hammam. You will then pass through Qasr al-Burqu one of the most remote castles in the area, and Qasr Al-Harranah. Finally, your guide will take you to the Qasr al-Hallabat, which includes the castle, a mosque, a hammam and other buildings. The intimacy of the small group will allow you to take full advantage of the visits and your guide's anecdotes.
Lunch will be provided on site. You will be taken back to your hotel in Amman at the end of the day.
