Situated in the Brera Palace, the Pinacoteca de Brera is home to great works of art from the 13th to 20th centuries. There is a large selection of work from the Napoleonic era as well as pieces from many great Italian masters.
Passing through the interior courtyard, visitors will see Antonio Canova’s “Napoleon as Mars the Peacemaker”, which pays homage to the founder of the museum which was inaugurated in 1809.
Visitors will also be able to explore 31 rooms which, thanks to the Acadamie des Beaux-arts, are filled with pieces which are symbols of the museum, such as The Marriage of the Virgin by Raphael,Madonna and Child by Giovanni Bellini and Crucifixion by Bramantino.
