A day in the life of Edgar Degas in New Orleans!
Visit the artist's only home and workshop in the world which is open to the public! The painter stayed in this house with his mother's family from 1872 to 1873.
In the heart of this beautiful house built in 1850, you will be guided by the artist's own great-great niece! She will tell you all about the history of the French Creoles and Edgar Degas' maternal family. She will show you the film Degas in New Orleans, a Creole Sojourn, a fantastic documentary retracing the steps of Edgar Degas in New Orleans (30 minutes).
You will also explore part of the Creole district and discover the places mentioned in Edgar Degas' correspondance. The tour will end in the artist's workshop where you can admire the paintings he created during his stay in Louisiana.
