Discover the illuminations of Petra during an evening visit!
A UNESCO World Heritage Site and listed as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, Petra is one of the most visited sites in the Near East. Three nights a week, at 8.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, the Treasury of Petra is lit up by 1500 candles. The show lasts around 1 hour and is accompanied by flute music.
You'll reach the Siq, the main access route to the Petra site, to begin your walk into the heart of this wonder of the world. The narrow, winding path, be lit by candlelight, leads you to the Al Khazneh "Treasury". In the evening, the atmosphere is generally one of contemplation, quite different from the hustle and bustle of daytime tourism. You can enjoy the spectacle of hundreds of candles, making the place both solemn and magical, while sipping a cup of tea.
