After meeting your guide, you will go on a walking tour to take in some of Venice's top sites. Your guide will tell you all about the history of the main sites and monuments, including:

  • Saint Mark's Square
  • Saint Mark's Campanile
  • The Clock Tower
  • The Procuratie
  • Campo Santa Maria Formosa
  • Campo Santi Giovanni e Paolo with the Basilica di San Giovanni e Paolo (known as the "Pantheon of Venice") and also the Scuola Grande della Carità
  • Marco Polo's House
  • The Malibran Theatre

After the walking tour you will enter Saint Mark's Basilica without waiting in line thanks to your fast-track ticket!

As soon as you step inside this landmark attraction you will be immersed in Byzantine art. Mosaics and frescos cover every inch of the interiors, including on the walls and domes.

You will have the chance to see the Pala d'Oro and the Treasury, and throughout your visit your guide will tell you all about the history and unique aspects of Saint Mark's Basilica.

At the end of your tour, your guide will accompany you out into Saint Mark's Square.

  • Availability: Monday to Saturday (except in exceptional cases)
  • Departure: Campo San Gallo (full information after booking, on your voucher)
     
  • The tour is always conducted in a single language and in small groups
  • Please wear comfortable shoes as well as proper attire to respect the religious nature of the premises
  • This activity is not accessible to people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility
  • During certain busy days or for reasons of force majeure (e.g. high tide or security problems), the waiting time to access St. Mark's Basilica may be longer than expected: in this case, please comply with the guide's instructions.
  • On Sundays, public holidays and in the event of unforeseen religious celebrations, the Pala d'Oro tour is not available. On the same days, the visit to the terrace on the second floor to admire the mosaics will be limited due to the Mass taking place on the first floor
  • The tour will not be able to take place in the event of exceptional high tides or unscheduled religious services (in which case it can be rescheduled for the following day, otherwise it will be refunded)
  • For safety reasons, it is not permitted to bring backpacks inside St. Mark's Basilica
  • IMPORTANT: St. Mark's Basilica is currently undergoing renovation work, and some parts of the monument are not accessible. You will, however, have access to the terraces, which offer a beautiful view over the whole of St. Mark's Square and the center of Venice, as well as to the St. Mark's Museum. Here you can see objects of various origins belonging to the Basilica, including the famous restored St. Mark's horses, a quadriga that once adorned the Basilica's main door
